Warning: Licensing Captivate 9 overwrote an entire folder full of files from trial

Trial expired so bought another Captivate 9 subscription, our fifth for a computer in our office. It overwrote the "My Captivate Projects" folder on an external drive. All files gone. Fortunately we have them backed up.

    I've made the same trial-to-purchased-copy change in the last few weeks and I didn't lose a thing.

    I've also not changed my default file paths, either; thanks probably to a lot of warnings on this site that you didn't see.

    Hmmm... can you check the settings in Preferences for the default paths? Maybe you had both Cache and Documents set to the same folder which could explain what happened. This is certainly not normal.

    Well yeah that is the freaking problem since I just cleared the cache and it wiped out all of my yesterdays work, captivate project files, assets, everything gone. This application is something else. In my opinion the worst engineered application I have ever used.

    I'm just a user, cannot answer to your rant: but you changed the default paths, same for projects and cache folders. That is not a default setting at all!
