when I publish to video, some of my jpgs show as red squares.

    Which version of 9? Latest is 4.0.2.437.

    Turn off all compression settings when publishing.

    Do you mean "publish" or "preview" ? If it is preview then the issue is one of system resources on your computer, (low RAM, lots of Apps open etc) ans won't be present when you do publish it. If its publish, I would follow Lily's directions.
