ColdFusion 8 and PDFs

I have a project where we are going to put all the documents that used to be done in Word into PDFs via CF 8. They will then be stored in an Oracle db. The question is is it possible to perform searches on the PDFs?

yes, Verity, which comes bundled with cf can index PDF documents easily.
(though the bundled version of Verity has limits on size of collections
it can create: iirc it can index up to 250,000 items max; if you need
more items indexed the you need to get a full license from Verity [mucho
expensive, btw])
