Export Settings

I am currently working on updating from Coldfusion 6.1 to Coldfusion 8. Both are Standard editions. From all the documentation I've found is it really not possible to import/export settings from one to the other? Can anyone give me some better information regarding this?

    We just went from CFMX6.1 to CF8. The install seemed to go through 2 phases. The first part was the program install and then when it said it was successful, it launched a web browser install where it imported our settings from the CFMX version.
