Microsoft Word doc to html

Using Coldfusion 9 I am trying to build a cfcomponent that converts a Microsoft word doc to html.  I found an example of using Microsoft word application objects from the MX7 reference (http://livedocs.adobe.com/coldfusion/7/htmldocs/wwhelp/wwhimpl/common/html/wwhelp.htm?context=ColdFusion_Documentation&file=00001585.htm) but I can't seem to get it to work.  I get "A timeout occurred while attempting to lock WordObjLock."

Is there an easy way to do this?
