I feel cheated - how do I cancel my subscription?

Hi, I have paid monthly for Adobe Creative sense 1st of May 2021. I tried ending my plan today as I no longer needed Adobe (the projects I needed the produts for are done), but I got a message about having to pay ca 250 EUR for ending the subscriptiopn early! I can't find any information at all  on when is a good time to end the subscription and how to avoid the penatly. This behavior from Adobe does not feel lawful, and I wish to get more information about the plans and subscription and how to end it properly.

The subscription you took was annual, paid monthly. So you promise to pay for one year in 12 parts. If you cancel, you must still pay, but Adobe give a generous 50% discount.

Cancel in month 12 to cancel with no fee. (It is always cheaper to cancel sooner).

Do not be late, even by one day, or it renews for another year and the cost to cancel is 6 months fee.
