What happens if I am unable to pay my monthly fee?

There might also be financial or even legal repercussions, if you've committed to an annual subscription that got you a lower rate and then just stopped paying in the middle of it, for example. Adobe will probably charge you anyway and then you'll go into overdraft with your bank or credit-card company, which is never a good idea.
