Dear Adobe,

First of all, kudos to you for monopolising the design software market and charging exorbitantly and equally even though we clearly live in an unequal world. You really think a freelancer sitting in a small town in India has the same financial bandwidth to invest in a software monthly as a freelancer sitting in New York?? - wow. But sure, we can overlook your capitalist tendencies - atleast be good at what you do.

Let me tell you what happened.  I was considering if I should go in for an Adobe Illustrator subscription. Even though I thought the annual plan worked for me (despite the exorbitant pricing), I thought maybe I should just go for the monthly plan first and then trust you all. And wow, I really dodged a bullet there because I did not have the bandwidth of losing 20k to a failed transaction. Its been more than a week and I still haven't receieved a refund for my 2.5k yet. Everyday I ask someone to open a case at Adobe and email them all the details but nope, no response.

After the first payment did not go through, I received no confirmation, no email, no support from Adobe. I had to create a new email ID just so I could make the purchase again and also access support. Thankfully it went through the second time but what happened to my refund for the first transaction???

What do I have to do to get you all to be accountable for this? Do you think you can just get away with not having a system in place for refunding failed transactions? Do you think people in the third world or the global south as you prefer to call it will keep trusting you with their money despite you failing miserably at creating a trustworthy system ??? Do you think Rs 2514.58 is a small amount of money for a country like India? Do you know what the minimum wage for a freelance designer here is? Do you know that we are not protected by the law as an informal sector and we pay through our teeth to be able to work in this industry.

Let me tell you the truth - people have been using crack versions of your software for years because they do not trust you for exactly these reasons. Infact I am now considering if I should change my plan to annual subscribtion or not. Trust me, unless I get my refund back I will continue to pester you for 2514.58 rupees. This is not a small amount for me. Please give it back to me. This is my Case ID:

I'm am confused by your ascertion that a "failed transaction" entitles you to a refund.  By its very definition, FAILED means it was aborted, not processed, no money was exchanged from your bank to Adobe's.  If there is more to this story than you're telling, please enlighten us.

In the meantime, please refer to this article about bank cards from India.

This is NOT THE COMPLAINTS DEPARTMENT. Just so you know nobody with power in Adobe will see it. If you want support you have to contact Adobe. Tip: when you get hold of customer service, just be nice; it is their choice whether to help you above and beyond the contract.

Do you really think I haven't contacted Adobe Support? Lmao. The only place they actually respond is to twitter!
