Question

ADE error message E-ADEPT-REQUEST-EXPIRED when trying to open a book. Tried ADE v3 and v4 - same result. Not had any problem before. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Downloaded books. Usually just open them from library (.acsm files) and ADE allows me to move them to a Kobo. (Using a Win XP PC.) Now getting ADE error message E-ADEPT-REQUEST-EXPIRED. Tried installing ADE v3 and v4; changed file type associations to v4; allowed ADE in firewall; updated .net version; - same result. Not had any problem before. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

1. Confirm that the system date, time, and time zone on your device is correct.


If that checks out, then:


2. Make a new attempt to download the eBook from the vendor that you purchased it from.  Avoid trying to initiate the download from an old .acsm file that was previously saved to your computer of device.

As it was over a week since the problem began, the books were showing as expired on the library site they came from. They were down loaded again and worked with no problem. Odd. Thanks for your suggestion - it worked.
