ADE will not recognize my Kobo Glo

ADE will not recognize my Kobo Glo, and it doesn't show up on my drive list either. I just borrowed a library book for the first time and can't get it on my ereader. All instructions so far that I have read are confusing and seem unsuccessful in the end anyway. Anyone have a definite answer as to why it is not being recognized?
