Adobe Digital Editions shuts down unexpectedly when trying to transfer PDF files to my Kobo

Regardless of the PDF file, whenever I try to transfer from Adobe to my Kobo, I get a 'shut down unexpectedly' error.  Any ideas?

The exact same thing happens to me, I have a Mac. This is beyond annoying. The reason I bought a Kobo is because I can transfer books borrowed from the Canadian library to the Kobo, but I'm not even able to do that.
