Change Adobe ID

Question

My Adobe ID was in the list of recently hacked addresses. That email, however, is no longer valid as I have changed ISP's.

The reset password link will only send a link to the (now) defunct address.

In a chat with support, they told me they would change my ID to a new address "within 2 - 3" days. After waiting over a week, I contacted them again.

My big concern is that existing books still be readable, and as I authorize new devices with the new ID, that I still be able to read them.

The chat specialist says that is not possible and to post a question here about how to fix it.

So - how am I going to get my DRM protected books assigned to a defunct address, that I cannot change the password to?

Do you still have ADE working authorized with your now defunct address?

If so, you should be able to DRM strip all your books using a program such as epubee.

I do NOT advocate using such code to get around the valid limitations placed on a DRM book.

However, where the problem arises only because of the ineptness of Adobe's ADEPT DRM infrastructure and its implementation,

such a measure is totally justifiable.
