I have Digital Editions installed but when I try to download a book to my nook, it won't recognize the acsm format

I had to de-authorize and re-authorize my nook.  I removed my old version of Digital Editions and installed the latest.  I can open Digital Editions and see my past library books but I cannot download new ones.  It won't recognize the acsm format.  I tried adding it to the file type but, it doesn't find it on the list. I checked my registry and Digital Editions is there.  I don;t know what else to do here.  I am running on Windows XP with a nook GlowLight and have re-booted my PC.  This used to work fine for me and now I can't use it at all!  Please help me!

Thanks

I had tried both.  Actually, what I did to resolve this was to uninstall ADE version 3 and re-install version 2.  Not sure if it was the uninstall and reinstall or the version but, it is now working.  Thanks for your respone!

How are you trying to open the ACSM file with Adobe Digital Editions? Did you try going through the "Open file" menu or did you try dragging and dropping the ACSM inside Adobe Digital Editions?
