I talked to a India who could not explain why my personal subscription for All Apps went up from $360 to $560 annually, a whopping 64%(!) increase. I've invested a tremendous amount of time learning the products, get used to using them, and now feel like I'm being HELD HOSTAGE by a huge corporate machine only interested in profits. I know there are other products out there, but I can't afford the time to adapt to other programs.

Can anyone explain?

Prices vary by:

  • strength / weakness of local economy,
  • regional taxation laws,
  • digital taxes,
  • type of plan ordered,
  • introductory discount ended,
  • etc...

Where I live in the US, rates have remained steady. Only 1 rate increase in 7 years.

Did you buy an Education subscription, or during a first year promotion?

No, maybe I should. $560 for one year? Yikes.

The All Apps annual (paid monthly) plan rose last year by 6%, from US$49.99 per month to $52.99 per month. The prepaid annual plan is now US$599 per year. So I don't know how you're getting them for $560. The real mystery is how you got the special price of $360. I'm guessing you signed up during one of those "special offer months" where there is a 40% discount for one year. So, naturally at the end of the year it comes to the normal price. No, actually, the real real mystery is why customer service couldn't tell you this. Perhaps they did but you can't accept that the offer just comes to an end...
