About Adobe Products/Packages/Prices, etc...

Hello everyone!

I'm pretty new in these forums but have had CS4 for quite some time now.
I have a MacBook Pro which just updated to the Mojave version.

I opened my Photoshop, and although it seems to be working, I got a pop-up notification saying this is the last version in which will support my current PS version... which means I should be looking to upgrade in the future and start stashing those bills away.

Anyways, I'm trying to look for some prices and packages and such. It looks like the Creative Suite got replaced with Creative Cloud?
I (will) need the Photoshop and Illustrator software and I see InDesign is there as well (which is good)... I was also hoping to get Animate and maybe Premiere someday to dabble in.

Does Adobe do any custom-packaging deals?

I'm also looking for prices on the individual software as well as the Creative Cloud. I see/saw Adobe selling Photoshop for $120 and didn't know if that's because of a cyber Monday price? I'm also not seeing any type of version for these Adobe programs. I have version 4, and last I knew there was version 6. Photoshop (or Photoshop CC I think) was version 1... so I'm also wondering if they're selling the different versions? (and why would they be selling older software?)

I see payment plans, but since I'll be saving my money up, I'm hoping to pay all at once... which I can't seem to find any info on. Adobe programs haven't become a monthly subscription thing only, have they? (I would really hate that!!!)

Any info on anything I mentioned above would be helpful.
Thanks in advance.

No.   Your 3 main choices are for annual plans:

  • Single Apps Plan - $21month per product.
  • The Photography Plan - $10/month (PS, LR, LR Classic) bundle
  • 20+ All Apps Plan.  (Current Black Firday special is only $40/month (regular $53/month).

At the moment, there's nothing in between.

Yes, it's all by subscription now.

Under the old license model, every time Apple sent out OS upgrades, you had to hope and pray that your old software would still work on the new OS.   Under the CC subscription model,   you get free upgrades for as long as you remain a member.  So your software will be compatible with the latest operating systems.

Thank you for replying!

Guess I'm going to have to hold onto my Mac and CS4 versions for as long as I can... and start looking for another program to use.

Bear in mind the typical CC subscriber only uses about 3 apps regularly, and the others are just bonuses. So don't get into the trap of thinking "this is a 20 product subscription, I should pay less if I only use 3". So the "all apps" plan is what you need.

(One analogy is an "all you can eat buffet". You pay the same if you eat a little or a lot. You pay the same if you only choose three dishes rather than 20. You don't pay more if there are 20 dishes or 50 dishes to choose from...)
