adobe premiere 2020 transitions

If there are any experts at all anywhere out there, I beg of you to contact me via email or phone...I will leave my number at the end of this message. I have run into an extremely frustrating issue for a very simple project that is due Saturday April 4th, 2020. I opened premiere and began the new project, however I am seeing some new symbol for my transitions that I have never seen before. It won't allow me to add the transition to my timeline for any length of video at all. Where the transition that is laid on the timeline is genereally brown, this particular one is blue and grey. I have no idea what I am seeing or how to fix it and it seems that no one, anywhere I look, on youtube or throuhgout the web is addressing this. Almost as if there is no one out there with the updated 2020 version. I've tried reaching out to Adobe about it, but got no answer via phone or chat. I have an extremely limited amount of time to work on this so again, if there are any experts at all out there willing to help me troubleshoot or actually know and can relate to what I am seeing, please let me know ASAP! To be perfectly honest, its almost as if my entire effects tab isn't operating properly and I can't understand why it wouldn't be. I go back to previous projects and it works just fine.
