Automation and scripting

I need to automate the insertion of images from files and text from Excel into PDF templates.  I do not know what Adobe tools should be used, the scripts needed to do this work or know any consultant that can be contracted to build this process.  I need to set up a similar process for video creation, automate pulling video clips and images from file locations and text from Excel into a Premier template with After Effects.  Any ideas about how to get this done?
