CS 6 Activation Links

I reformatted my hard drive, and now need to re-activate / install CS6.  Before reformatting the Hard Drive, I did de-activate CS6.  I just can't find the link to CS6 to install.

The ONE exception to the no support rule is support will still help deactivate a serial number
When you have a non-functioning computer and can't deactivate a serial number
BE SURE TO ONLY ASK FOR ACTIVATION SUPPORT TO ADJUST YOUR ACTIVATION COUNT
Click here for a non-Cloud program http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/service-c1.html
-and https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/unable-deactivate-cs6.html

Where are these rules and exceptions stated, as shouldn’t they be published for the customer to see? It looks like you added the exception in more recently, as I didn't see that exception there previously when you posted this rule, so it looks like this change in policy is a work in progress.
Activation is part of the licensing system, so if a customer can't activate their software license with Adobe online, it renders the software worthless and unusable. Whether that is a problem with the number of activations, or not being able to deactivate or reactivate the license. So if an activation system problem is causing a non functioning product for the customer, in my opinion Adobe should still provide help with that for the customer, in getting their software activate/working. This is because only the licensing activation system at Adobes end is stopping the license and software being usable, and the customer has no control over that, or any ability to fix it from the customers end.

Click the link Nancy provided

--then click Order history on the left and the link to your order that shows on the right
--and finally click the link "Downloads and serial numbers" that will appear

If you don't have that on your account page, nobody (not even Adobe staff) can help

Here's the latest:

I figured out that I was using my wrong user name, changed my email to my correct user name, and Voila, my product history shows up.

But, when trying to reactivate as ohn references above, it says that license is not available.  (Which probably means, I assume, that I may not have deactivated it correctly.)

So, I contacted customer support and they said:

We would like to inform you this license is no longer available and valid for Windows 10 64 Bit.
So we can do is we provide you the new license for CS 6 and help you with Download, Install and Activate on your Windows computer.

Will help you to Download, Install and Activate the CS 6 and CS 6 new license will cost you but you will be getting the discount because you already having our older version of the software.

I read some other convedrsations here and it states to use a support link if you are having activation problems, but that link now doesn't help much.

I originally purchased CS 6 through Adobe, and again, it does show up on myt products page with the serial number.

Is it possible to somehow deactivate the original license or somehow make it available so that i can re-activate it?  Do I have to pay to reactivate it now, as the support person says? I don't need any help in downloading, installing or activatin CS 6, I just need to reactivate the license.

How did this alleged Adobe support person contact you?  Do you have an Adobe case number and a copy of your online chat transcript?

This looks an awful lot like an Adobe impostor who wants to take your money and give you nothing or worse take control of your computer.  The appallingly poor English aside, a real Adobe support agent would NEVER offer to sell you a replacement version of CS6 because it's no longer sold or supported.  The only replacement for CS6 is a genuine Creative Cloud subscription.

It matters a great deal what type of license you purchased and from whom.

If you purchased an individual license directly from Adobe, a download link should appear in your account portal. Log-in to your account below.

If you have a student/teacher or volume license, or you purchased from another vendor, you will need to find the original installation disks as your serial number is attached to that specific media.

OK, this is troubling.  Adobe shows no order history for me, even tho I bought the several versions of CS  and have the disks for 5.5, and then the upgrade to six.  I did save most of the sn's so perhaps I can see if i can find those and upgrade from there.

Nothing doing, tonite tho.  I will get back tomorrow.
