Future pricing model for Allegorithmic software

Let me just start of by saying Adobe's recent acquisition of Allegorithmic troubles me deeply. I bought the Steam versions in 2018 and have recently started investing more time in learning the software. The reason I made the purchase was because there was no monthly fees to worry about. I don't have a job so subscription fees are simply not an option.

Could someone please tell me how Adobe is planning on monetizing the software and do I need to start looking for other material/texture creation software. I paid a large amount of money I don't really have for this software. This news,(although old by now) has taken the wind out of my sails and my new found inspiration to better myself with this software is quickly disappearing.

I sincerely hope my someone can calm my fears about losing my access to a suite of products I enjoy using very much.

I searched Allegorithmic's forums and found the answer I was looking for. For those of you who have similar questions just follow the link I provide at the bottom. Long story short, if you bought a license on Steam it will never expire. Updates will roll out until the end of 2019 after which support for your copy will end.

If you buy a perpetual license you can use that one as long as it runs on your computer system. That's also the case with licenses like CS2 and before, CS3...CS6. The only problem herewith is that the OS may make it impossible for you to use the software.
