Non-Genuine Adobe Pop-up/CS6 Design & Web Premium (Student/Teacher)

I bought this version while taking classes at a local college, from the college bookstore. I registered the product in June of 2013. My serial number shows up in my account when logged into the Adobe site. To get the serial number, I had to go through a process to prove I was a student and could purchase/use the software.

Today, for the first time, I got this popup (I have gotten the non-compatible popup on my CS6 Suite applications for a while now, but everything has continued to work as I need).

I'm currently on hold with Adobe customer support (for over 20 minutes and counting). From what I've seen, they don't do much help other than suggest you buy a subscription. But CS6 still fits my needs just fine in the suite that I have.

Is there an "expiration" of Student and Teacher licensing that I'm up against, or could it be something else?

Same, The new Genuine is broke.  Not to mention CC and Genuine apps still burn 17-20% CPU resources when not using any Adobe App.  Going round and round with Adobe, no joy unless i can find my receipt from CS6 that i bought over 7 years ago?

Looking at the forums, its pretty clear Adobe BBQ'ed most of us old Disc holders, IMO, they are just forcing us to the CC subscription model.   I just canceled my After Effects CC sub.  i'm done with adobe.  I've used AE since v1 on 3.5 floppy (video producer for 25+ years).  The fortune i've dumped into this company is insane.  This was the last straw. Plenty of alternatives much cheaper.

Unfortunately, even though I have my receipt from the college bookstore and the email that was sent from Adobe that gave me the serial number after verifying my purchase, they still say that it's not genuine and that the particular bookstore is not an authorized reseller!?

Everything was fine when I purchased six years ago and I had to go through the process to receive my serial number. Yet it's now not genuine!?

Moving this discussion to the Downloading, Installing, Setting Up forum.

SEEverist, my apologies for any difficulties you have faced with reinstalling the education version of Creative Suite 6 Design and Web Premium for Mac OS.  I review both of the serial numbers registered under your account and I have confirmed that the CS6 Design and Web Premium and CS4 Design Premium serial numbers are still both valid.

What is the exact error message that you receive when you attempt to install the education version of Creative Suite 6 Design and Web Premium?

Please be aware that education licenses for Adobe software are tied to the installation files provided with your purchase.  If you attempted to use your serial number, with the retail installation files for CS6 Design and Web Premium, then you would receive the error message that the serial number is invalid.

Are you using the installation files provided with your purchase of CS6 Design and Web Premium?  I am showing that the registration was completed as part of the installation process, which would make sense if you purchased the software from your education institutions bookstore.  If you are using the installation files, provided with your purchase, then please see solution 2 in Error: "The serial number is not valid for this product" | Adobe Creative Suite for steps you can take to remove the activation database files.  If you attempted to migrate/copy CS6 from another hard drive/computer, then it is very likely the activation database files will either be corrupted or have incorrect permissions set.

Finally, SEEverist, if you are installing Creative Suite 6 on a Mac running macOS 10.12 or later then you will need to use the workaround listed in Installing Creative Suite on macOS 10.12 (Sierra) to begin the installation process.

Update: I'm in the process of emailing a copy of the receipt, after 50 minutes on hold (expected time 21 minutes). This may take care of it, luckily I have the receipt still.

A long time ago (3+ years ???) I read about an education version that was bought from a college, not direct from Adobe, that came with an expiration date because the college got a "special deal" from Adobe... and, of course, the college didn't tell the students when they made the purchase that there was an expiration date

I hope you are not in that situation

I hope not too. I'm just waiting for their email for me to reply with the photo of the receipt now. We'll see how that goes.
