Pandemic [and free access to education programs]

I thought I would use my downtime from classroom teaching to learn illustrator.  7 days really didn't help much and I was hoping that Adobe would give extensions during this tough time.  Also, I can't afford the $20 a month being out of work when I just wanted illustrator.  Anyone have suggestions?

Adobe is providing "free" access to its Creative Cloud apps only if you are in education as a teacher or student. For institutions that give students access to Creative Cloud apps through on-campus computer labs, Adobe is enabling those students to work remotely for 60 days through a temporary "at home" access. This has to be set up through the school.

In addition to what John said,  Adobe Connect is freely available for 90 days so everyone can web conference during this pandemic.

For free vector graphics editors, look at these Illustrator alternatives. Depending on what you need to do, some are better than others.
