OT: Question for Author David Powers

Hi David Powers,

I was wondering if I could order (as in "early-bird" ordering) this book, "PHP Solutions: Dynamic Web Design Made Easy." When is this book being released in market? I think you had mentioned this a while ago sometime in middle of November of this year (2006), no?

Finally, I enjoy your book, "PHP for Dreamweaver 8" and you probably have noticed that I have recommend other participants your book few times already. Because it is excellent, excellent book. I mean it! Second to none! *hands down*

I truly commend that you wrote this book rather eloquencely in such concise, obvious and precise way of discuss or present information to all about PHP working around/with DW8. Thank you, David Powers!

Merci beaucoup, Brian, aka DWD

"PHP Solutions" is available for pre-order from Amazon (and probably
other online stores). The official publication date is 20 November, and
I understand the book is on schedule. It was sent to the printers last
Friday. You can see more details of what the book contains, together
with direct links to some online stores, by going to my site at the
following address:

http://foundationphp.com/phpsolutions/

I should point out that it's *not* a Dreamweaver book. It focuses
entirely on hand-coded PHP. Some of the techniques in the book duplicate
what is already automated for you by Dreamweaver. However, there is a
lot of other material that Dreamweaver doesn't handle. So I hope
Dreamweaver users will also find the book helpful.

It will also be released as an e-book (available through the Apress
site). There's a special offer on the back page of the printed version
for anyone who wants both the printed and electronic versions.

Just in case of any confusion, online stores are currently showing the
book as having a purple cover, which is very different from the one
shown on my site. The purple cover was just a mockup released by my
publishers several months ago. I expect they'll eventually get round to
showing the actual cover, which is a sort of dull gold - and to my mind,
much nicer.

Thanks, Brian, I'm glad you like it. I hope that "PHP Solutions" also
lives up to your expectations.

It's normal practice for publishers to create dummy covers for
forthcoming books so that booksellers have something to display. The
actual cover was finalized only recently, so it will take some time
before booksellers update their sites. I simply mentioned it in case
anyone is confused by the difference.

Thank you. I hope you enjoy it.

Hello David Powers,

Well noted, thanks for some clarifications about it is not just for Dreamweaver book. I agree that this book is, indeed, very useful and "resourceful".

I will have a look at about book's purple cover and your actual book cover as shown on your site sometime later today. Did you contacted the publisher about this issue?

I'll pre-order it today! Again, thanks for heads up, David Powers.

Happy PHP code-crunching learner/user,
Brian, aka DWD ;)
