Spry, XML & MySQL

Question

I have off and on looked at DV CS3. This is my first real
serious try. I want to setup “add a new user” from HTML
page with backend data located in MySQL.

The user data includes name, address, etc.

I understand it can be done with SPRY, XML, Java/JavaScripts
& MySQL. I am hoping that someone direct me to a tutorial so I
can get started.
