Eclipse IDE for writing API Clients

I do not know the exact answer but I'll share some thoughts.

The Adobe documentation does explicitly indicate Microsoft; however, that document was probably written long before Eclipse came around. So, I don't think that the documentation is the last word on the issue. However, I have never heard of anyone pulling this off, and, given the relatively small percentage of Frame users who actually develop custom software, it's likely that there hasn't been any grand effort to do so. I do believe thought, that if it is possible, you would have to be extremely savvy with Eclipse; that is, far more than a casual developer. I use both Eclipse and Microsoft for software development and I would be quite stumped if I were asked to make Eclipse compile an FDK client. Then again, I am not that skilled with IDEs and writing software is only something I do part-time as necessary to be more efficient as a technical writer.

If you were successful at this, I believe it would be of great interest to the (small) FDK development community. There is a Yahoo list dedicated to the subject at:

You might consider posting your inquiry there, as there is a considerably larger pool of developers who follow the list than this forum. If you were successful in using Eclipse, I'd strongly encourage you to post some details there as well... I think a number of us would be very interested.
