Ideas on how to resolve the behavior of FM9 frequently freezing on Windows 7?

Hi all,

I'm using Framemaker 9.0.4 (9.0p255) on Windows 7 Enterprise (64-bit with no service pack).

I have my display set to Windows7 Basic (no Aero Theme).

Note: FM9 has been installed as a 32-bit application.

I have frequently been experiencing the issue of FM9 freezing.  I then have to shut FM9 down via Task Manager.  Some of the freezing symptoms include:

> Only part of the screen displays - most often the outer perimeter. The inside of the FM9 application disappears and the desktop displays behind it.

> The fonts that do display lose their style and it looks like they revert to a sans serif, bolded, 10 size type of font.

> At some point, when I click the FM icon in the taskbar, nothing happens, i.e., FM does not come into focus.

Then I have to manually stop the FM process via Task Mgr.

When I have FM9 open, I also have other applications open, such as Acrobat9 or Reader9, Snagit 9.1.3, and Eclipse Helios (32-bit). I am running Oracle JRE 1.6.0_21.

FM9 also freezes when those applications are closed.

Another odd thing is that I try to perform a Windows PrintScreen when FM9 starts to freeze and when I try to paste into Word, nothing is pasted. As soon as I shut down FM9, the Windows PrintScreen function works.

I searched through the Adobe Knowledge Base and couldn't find any pertinent solutions.

I have also uninstalled/reinstalled FM9.

Any suggestions would be welcome.

Thanks alot,
