FrameMaker 9 integrates with Adobe Captivate in the Technical Communication Suite, but not directly with InDesign or InCopy.

dtptools.com has a commercial InDesign plug-in converter for FrameMaker's Maker Interchange Format (MIF) files to InDesign files. Because of different methods used in the two products, it's not always a 100% perfect conversion. The plug-in is free to create and view/evaluate the conversions, but to save them, you'll need to buy a package of page credits.

There's no practical round trip from InDesign to FrameMaker. While you can export Rich Text Format (RTF) from InDesign, and import it into FrameMaker, again, because of product differences, the conversion isn't perfect. InDesign and FrameMaker both offer XML features, but yet again, differences are problematic.

    What are your needs?

The trial versions of FrameMaker and InDesign, and the trial mode of the dtptools plug-in (i. e., without buying page credits) can answer many of your questions.

    HTH

    Regards,

    Peter
