Text Frame Within A Text Frame: How do I make them the same flow?

Happy New Year to Everyone!

Here's my first question of the year:

To save space on a page, I'm using a text frame within a text frame for a lettered list:

As you can see, the right side begins at A when I need it to go on to D and E. I've tried messing with the flows, because I'm guessing these two text frames have two different flows (?). Also, if there is a better way to organize lists side-by-side like this, I'd appreciate the pointer.

    Jessie,

    You can accomplish this in several different ways:

    - Use a two-column (invisible, i.,e. no borders) table and set the numbering to increment column-wise

    - Split the text frame into multiple columns (i.e. use the Object Properties to specify the number of columns)

    - Don't overlap the text frames (keep them side-by-side) and connect the flow from the left to the right text frame.

    Using the invisible table approach is probably the least onerous from a maintenance perspective.

    Thank you, Ron and Arnis. Great tips. I ended up using the invisible table and it worked easily. I still need to practice using tabs; I'm not that great at them yet. Thanks, Arnis, for providing the other options as well--I got stuck thinking about text boxes that I didn't move on to other options.

    Jessie, eliminate the text box and try setting a tab for the beginning of the right-hand column. That way they all remain in the same flow.
