Question

Uh oh: "New forums will be online on Monday April 6, 2009. "

It's deja vu all over again. Sigh...

Having been through two such "upgrades" that left us with, practically speaking, completely unusable messes, I'm worried Adobe is about to break the forums. Again...

Cheers & have a GREAT weekend,
Riley

Looks good. Now, where can I search just the FrameMaker forums?

    Cheers,

    Hi Sean,

See the previous post to Robert. You need to do a "search" first, and then in the next step, there's a "More options" toggle below the search line. This will toggle advanced items. including a selectable list of forums. Totally bass ackwards way of doing it, but that seems to be the norm.

Yes, I'm getting the hang of things. Thanks.

Still, from a usability perspective, a search within each forum would be good.

    Cheers,

    Sean

    I'm here? Where's everybody else?

So far so good. Nothing broken and most everything has migrated across properly that I can see.

If there's anythig missing, let me know.

This is a test reply, to see who it thinks I am when I reply. So far it looks like I'm a screen name, not a name... oh oh.

edit:  aha, got it changed, all in two shakes of a Web 2.0 lamb's tail, too.

AG: " It's a good example of Darwinism in action - you learn to adapt or fade away."

NGN: "Darwinism imposed from without is the severest form of tyranny" <vbg>

I suppose I can adapt to the fussy presentation/layout, but the biggest question - to be answered as soon as I click [Post Message] - is, will I get my name back? "I am not a screen name, I am a free man!"

    <fx>drum-rolls and anticipation</fx>

    Hey everybody,

It's not like the Forums are going to stop working come Monday. It's
just that your interface will appear different, some features will go
away and new ones will appear. I've been through all of the changes
since the move from Compuserve in the last century. It's a good
example of Darwinism in action - you learn to adapt or fade away.

The main concern for some, will be the lack of NNTP support. However,
you can have full email or RSS (one-way only) feeds from the forums to
    keep on top of things.

Just remember that the forum logins will now be tied into your
AdobeID, which also locks down your email route. Read and understand
all of your options before agreeing to things.

Hope to see you all on the other side! [famous last words...]

Yup, which means that I'll be leaving the forums.
Not that I've been that active for the past year, but anyway...
It's been nice talking to you all!
