Hi @Malika25361017gccg,

Sorry to hear about the trouble you are facing. It is very much possible to add a 3D effect to a text and regulate its depth. However, the 3D effect can take a few seconds or minutes, depending on the text size & hardware capabilities to generate the effect.

Would you mind sharing a few details like:

  • The exact version of OS & Illustrator (Ensure you are using the latest version of Illustrator v26.3.1)
  • System Specs
  • Which font are you using?
  • Screenshot of your 3D settings, layer & appearance panel
  • Have you tried using a different font as suggested by @Mylenium
  • Have you tried resetting Illustrator preferences?

Kindly update the discussion if you still need assistance with it. We'd be happy to help.

Thanks & Regards,

Anshul Saini

Without any specific info about what font you use, its formatting and things like system info nobody can tell you much. As a test, try and use a different font. If it works there, then at least you know that the font is the problem. Otherwise there could be a million things at work liek inadequate hardware acceleration. Realyl impossible to know without more details.
