3D materials

Hi,

I am using the wood material in illustrator and there are seam lines appearing between the panels of wood.

Is there a way to remove the seam lines and make it one big panel?

And if so how?

Let me know asap if you have any answers!

Thank you!!! ❤️

Hello @Sasha.M1221,

Thanks for reaching out. As suggested by Mylenium, you can edit or create your materials in Adobe Substance 3D Painter (https://helpx.adobe.com/substance-3d-painter/using/materials-smart-materials.html) and then add them in Illustrator to check if it helps.

Looking forward to your response.

Thanks,

Anubhav

That would require editing the material itself and how it spreads in the mapping space. It may be possible to edit the material in Substance Designer, but then again even if that works, AI may not load your new material. So the answer is likely some sort of "Perhaps", but it may be more efficient to look for alternative ways of mimicing your wood materials like using clipping masks on imported texture images or creating your wood texture inside AI with all manner of brushes and gradients.
