Artboard Blue Lines

How do you get rid of the Artboards blue lines that come in when you "place" them. The ones that come through when someone else sends you an image. I hop this makes since bc everything I google or youtube something else comes up.

Those look like clipping masks.

Is the other file an AI file? In that case when you place the file, you force Illustrator to use the embedded PDF. Which then has the clipping masks. If you don't want that: open the file and then copy/paste the contents into the other file.
