Cannot open files in Illustrator 2022

I am trying to open an AI file (created last year in a previous version of Illustrator ) in Illustrator 2022. All the icons in the list have small grey 'x' in the bottom left corner and will not open. Snips show 1) a series of AI icon and 2) a bit more file information on the specific one I'm trying to open right now. Help please!

This problem has been solved by a very helpful person who was technically brilliant. After sharing my computer, the representative determined it was a conflict with a security program I have on my computer, and provided me with a workaround.

Hey, any more info on how you solved this problem?

Not sure if you're seeing it this way in your file directory outside AI, or if you're seeing it this way when you try File>Open in AI. My first suggestion would be to try to open it using the File menu. If it doesn't work, can you please send us a screenshot of the resulting error?
