crash

Hello everyone, I just lost hours of schoolwork that needed to be done because of one crash. So I decided to look up what to do to get my work back and found out there is a setting under preferences that automatically saves my progress. Since after the crash, I had nothing under my cloud I expected that setting to be off but nope it was on, every 5 minutes it's supposed to save my document since I've been working on that one file for about 4 hours now. I expected to have a few autosaves but I can't seem to find anything. very cool thx illustrator  🙂

Also, kindly submit the crash report using your Adobe email address and share it here for quick tracking. Steps are shared here: (https://adobe.ly/3s2joDw). I don't trust cloud-based auto-saves. If you're not familiar with Astute Graphics and their arsenal of Illustrator plugins, they have a free plugin called AutoSavior that works better and has more features than the standard auto-backup system in Illustrator. It will let you save backups in more than one location. It has a timer palette that can display when the next auto-save will happen and alert you if an auto-save attempt fails.

You can get AutoSavior as well as the Astute Buddy, DirectPrefs and MirrorMe plugins for free by starting an Astute Graphics 30 day trial. If you cancel the trial you get to keep the plugins.
