Gradient on a line, converts to outline path, when copy and pasted. :-(

It's a simple thing. Create a square. Add a gradient fill to the outer line. Select and copy the box. Paste the box. The gradient line is converetd to an outline stroke, filled with the gradient. Is there a pref somehwhere that does this? I just want to copy and paste the box, keeping the gradient fill on the line. I've created a video to show the problem. See below. Does anyone know how to resolve this?

You were right Monika Gause. I quit all my apps (including Illustrator). I then re-opened Illustrator and copied and pasted a gradient line and the problem was gone. I then re-opened my usual apps one by one - each time copying and pasting the gradient line in illustrator to see if the problem re-turned. Low and behold after I had  opened 'TeamViewer' the problem returned. So its 'TeamViewer' that is causing the copy and paste issues with my gradient line!

You have to search for that one application, extension or plugin installed anywhere on your computer that messes with your clipboard.

So quit all my other applications and keep trying the copy and paste until it works?
