Question

How are basic trackpad navigation features not a thing on Windows laptops after all these years?

I recently replaced my desktop PC with a high powered ASUS Zephrys G14 laptop for more portability which seems to improve my creative workflow. However, the trackpad does not support basic features like pinch to zoom and two finger X and Y panning! People have said to turn on force pinch zoom but that does not work for me. I'm dissapointed that this is not a feature since almost every app (including Affinity Designer) does this flawlessly and has been doing it for years. Please add this!

So since there is no built-in solution for Windows, you would like Illustrator to handle the pinch-zoom?

You could make a feature request at https://illustrator.uservoice.com

I'm not sure I fully understand your reply. I believe the Windows OS does natively support pinch-zoom functions (at least the native applications in windows do). However even if it didn't and all these other 3rd party applications made the feature work without native support, I definitely would expect Illustrator to handle the pinch-zoom feature considering most of the competition and even the surrounding industry have adopted the feature years ago.
