Illustrator Clipping Mask

Hello,
The photo clipping masks, created in illustrator, once the work file is closed and reopened, these are automatically released by the program. How can I solve without rasterizing? Am I wrong something? Or is it a bug in the program?

Can you be a bit more detailed about the steps you are taking? I had no trouble closing and reopening a file containing an image with a clipping path in AI 27.
