Question

Illustrator Intersect Guide and Snap set to the bottom of bounding box. I want it to be centred.

Hi friends

So with the latest update on Illustrator somehow, Smart Guides have changed. The intersect feature is set to the bottom of the bounding box - it used to be centred. The snapping functions have also gone weird. I really need to change the intersect to centre align - how do I do this?

Yes, I have done all the things with preferences etc. It's not working at all!

Please help!

Hi @The_Natz,

Apologies for the delayed response. I understand you've been experiencing issues with Smart Guides in the latest Illustrator update. As Monika said, when moving objects around, the position of the cursor needs to be at the relevant position. Also, ensure that you have selected the selection tools to see if that helps.

Also, verify that your snapping settings are properly configured. Check that "Smart Guides" and "Snap to Point" are enabled in the "View" menu.

If the problem persists, could you please confirm the exact version of Illustrator you are using and your operating system?

Also, a screen recording of the issue can be helpful in diagnosing the specific problem and finding a suitable solution.

I hope this helps! Feel free to share more details or questions, and we'll do our best to assist you.

Best regards,

Anshul Saini

Can you perhaps show a screenrecording or a sketch of what exactly is working differently? When moving objects around also the position of the cursor might be relevant.
