Question

Illustrator is deleting/replacing my old work with new work when I save it?

Hi all,

I'm a beginner but have been working with illustrator now and again for some time. I got a new computer and am suddenly having an issue I've never seen before. When I try to save something (file/save as), it takes the place of other work I've created, therefore deleting my old work. I'm giving them unique names and am saving like I always have, so I'm really confused and upset....I've lost two drawings now!

It keeps naming all my work "23" because I put the date at the end. I am saving on my computer and not on creative cloud.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Saving to a different folder is not an option?

There is enoiugh space on the harddisk?

And the last reboot was this morning?

Thanks for your reponse! Last reboot yes, enough space yes. I tried saving a new file just to my desktop and it seems to have worked fine... Happy to see that. But saving to "Creative Cloud Files" should not cause it to delete my work? 😮

You saved to Creative Cloud folder?

In that case you could try and open that folder on the web and see what it has to offer there. Also: there's a history. And a folder with deleted files.

And: please contact Customer Care and see if they can help you with finding those files in your account: https://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html
