Illustrator is randomly generating last used item from my library

Question

I'm working on a fairly large document and utillize an element from my library as it is the background for all of the pages I'm working on.
It'll frequently and randomly copy that same element from my library onto my canvas without my doing.
I'm not accidenly hitting any possible keys, because it'll do it, even when my hands aren't on the keyboard.

How do I get this to stop? I've updated the software and closed out/restarted my computer and it's still doing it.
