Question

Illustrator unusable because of crashes

Mac OS 12.0.1

Illustrator 27.0.1

It crashes my whole machine (complete freeze) within 5 minutes of starting to use it every time. So it is currently unusable. I turned off the option for graphics card. What else should I try?

Hello @David27244684d6jl,

Sorry to hear about this experience. Would you mind trying to update the OS on your computer to the latest version (macOS 12.6.1) and checking if it helps? If the issue persists, kindly try removing Illustrator using the Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool and then installing it again and share your observations.

Looking forward to your response.

Thanks,

Anubhav

What are your computer specs? - Mac Version, Available HD space, Graphics card (you can find these under Apple Menu/About this Mac).

You actually have two graphics cards on your MBP depending on the flavor: the Intel (lower end GPU) and a Radeon 560/555 RX.

This link, while pertaining to Photoshop may help:
