illustrator won't open at all just loads up a bit

Im working on a an old 2017 macbook air and before I updated to illustrator 2024 everything was running smoothly now it won't load at all the first popup with the picture will show but then the window opens up and stays blank you know where it would usually say like new file open open old files that spot. So plz help
