Is my file corrupted file because of an SVG Filter? I cannot load file.

Question

I was playing with features in Illustrator. I added a Bas Filter and SVG Filter to one of my layers not really knowing what they are. Saved Filed, closed it. Next day, when I go to boot the file it just keeps "loading SVG filter". I left it loading all day and when I came home from work my computer had rebooted. It must have crashed. I have no idea what to do. Any suggestions?

Illustrator is bad at opening SVGs. Really bad. Particularly at its own SVG files.

So it's better to not get into a situation where you have to open an SVG file ever again. Always save your work file as AI. SVG is only for export. And then forget.

Try and open your SVG file in Inkscape. And there delete those effects. Then export at whatever is approrpiate. And open in Illustrator
