Keyboards shortcuts not editable with 2020 on MAC with Catalina

I have no way of adjusting or adding keyboard shortcuts on Catalina. Something is seriously wrong. My old shortcuts seem to have come across but from previous illustrator versions but there is no way to edit. Do I need to unlock a system file or something?

Ok I seem to have fixed it.

I went Finder>Go>option-key+Library  then Library>Preferences>Adobe Illustrator 24 Settings>en_GB and the changed the name of .kys file to .kys-back. Now I can edit the defaults in Illustrator and I can edit the backed up file.

Just for reference, this also works for the same problem in 2023 illustrator- thanks for the help!

What do you see when you go to the Edit menu and select "Keyboard Shortcuts"?

All the options are greyed out and I can't edit anything

Just type your shortcut. Does that not work?
