Mac created eps file won’t open in Windows Illustrator

Hi - I've been sent an eps file created on a Mac - when I try to open on my pc I get the error message 'The file '[filename.eps]' is in an unknown format and cannot be opened'. Anyone know how I can open/convert for pc use in Illustrator? TIA

Sorry to hear about this experience. As suggested by Eric, kindly try opening the eps file in other programs like Photoshop to check if you can open the file. If it still does not work, I would suggest sharing the file here or via DM so we can check it on our end.

Hi 

Can you confirm the version of the software and operating system used?

Can you also make sure that you File>Open in illustrator and not double click on the file?

Have you tried to open it in other programs like PhotoShop, InDesign to see if you can open it?
