New update Image trace deleted all my work.

I was working on a client file and needed to use image trace; while playing around with the options, all my work disappeared asides from the image. I tried my ways to see how I can get my data back but it seems that there is a bug that causes your work to be erased.  Im very disappointed. Does anyone know a way to check file history?

You're not alone. I just lost 5 hours of work because of this bug. I've encountered it often in the past few months... it has NOTHING to do with settings, it's simply a glitch in their systems. I wish they'd address this.

 

File history doesn't work.

We understand how frustrating it can be to lose important work. Would you mind sharing more details, like the exact version of the OS/Illustrator, whether the Ai file you were working on was saved locally (if yes, the exact location of the folder) or if it was saved as a cloud document, and the exact steps taken when encountering this problem along with a screen recording (if you're able to replicate this) so we can investigate this further?

You most likely have a bad combination of settings. Would happen in this case. Change mode from Black and White, should help get you

Okay, I found a way to retrieve my old data through version history. But still, what a weird bug.

I think the Illustrator team would be very interested if you could repeat the problem and describe the steps.
