Pasting layers from Illustrator to Photoshop

When I copy layers from Illustrator and paste them into Photoshop I'm prompted to select from the following options:

 

-Layers

-Smart Object

-Pixels

-Paths

-Shape Layer

 

Previously when I would select layers, I would be prompted with another pop-up that allowed me to choose between vectorizing and rasterizing the layers. I've always select the rasterizing option (I don't mind if I lose the linked layers) but I just recently clicked on vectorizing instead by accident and now each time I attempt to paste layers from Illustrator to Photoshop there is an immediate pop-up that states "Could not complete the paste command because it would exceed the 10 nested groups limit in the destination document. Try again with fewer groups selected." It doesn't ask me if I'd like to vectorize or rasterize anymore, I believe it's assuming I always want to vectorize, but that is not the case.

 

How do I reset the prompt in Photoshop so that it always asks me if I'd like to vectorize or rasterize after pasting layers from Illustrator to Photoshop?

    I was wondering about the same thing. But I don't remember seeing that second alert after very early versions of the new copy/paste workflow. 

    Maybe it's just gone and the process has been streamlined.

    @Rebecca29161929lc1q The new dialogue gives you felixibility in working.

    • Layers: Everything is brought in from Illustrator as you set it up. Live text is kept and Illustrator shapes are converted to Photoshop shapes. 
    • Smart Objects: Everything you paste is put into one Vector-Smart-Object. When you double click it it will be opened  in Illustrator and you can edit it there
    • Pixels: This would be your rasterized version now
    • Paths: If there are shapes that can be converted into paths Photoshop will do that and you will find those paths in the Path Panel
    • Shape Layer: If Phostoshop detects shapes it will create one shape layer with all those shapes on it
