.PNG24 files can suddenly no longer be recognised by my Illustrator V 25.4.8

Hi, my illustrator suddenly can't recognise .png24 files anymore. It literally happened overnight, and has affected many of my production files that I am working on. It keeps asking me to replace the .png image file, which just a few days ago had no issues, even though the paths are correct? Your help is much appreciated as I am working on a large project. Thank you 😉

There seems to be a problem with PNG files and 25.4.8

If you have 25.4.8 try to go back to the previous version 25.4.7

In the CC app, choose Apps, click the 3 dots to the right of Illustrator.

select the Other versions option.
