I have CMYK values for a dark purple. It show purple on screen (set to CMYK document color mode) but when saved to pdf the color changes to dark blue. I have turned off color management in AI and It shows the correct values in my rip software but is the wrong color. There is no color management set in my rip. I tried to up load the color profile I have in my rip but will only save as a .icm or .aco file and those are grayed out when going to select them in AI. How can I get the correct color and if I need to upload the color profile how can I do so when AI will not accept the files I can save.

Here is your issue.

Learn about color management, set it up correctly for your system and the RIP and the document.

ANd then use it.
