Resizing a shape that has the roughen effect

Hello!

I've been playing about with the roughen effect to make fur but I am coming up against a problem when I resize my artwork.

The defined fur edge loses it's definition if I make the shape smaller. What am I doing wrong, or is this just not possible?

Also you can find scale stock and effects from: Edit -> preferences -> General ( ctrl + K )

I do have the 'scales and strokes effects' ticked in my preferences. I looked this up and did it but it hasn't helped...probably should have mentioned that!

Also: this is an effect with randomization. You change the object and then it might be applied differently based on the same options.

What you could try: Make a static symbol out of it and then scale the symbol instance.

or

Apply the transform effect after the roughen effect (order in appearance panel matters for this) and then scale through the transform effect.

Sasha,

It is crucial whether you have Scale Strokes & Effects ticked or unticked (you can change it in different places, including the Transform palette (flyout)).
