Touchpad/screen gestures not working on HP Pavillion

I used to be able to zoom in/out using the touchpad or touchscreen, then when something was selected, the gesture would resize the selected object.  Now it just zooms and won't resize. 

 

Nothing has changed, no updates or anything, it's just stopped working.

 

I've had this problem before and selecting 'force enable Pinch to zoom on touchpad' worked, then it happened again, and restarting the software worked.  Now nothing is working, any ideas please?

I'm sorry to hear about this experience and for the delayed response. I hope the problem is resolved by now. If not, would you mind trying to run Illustrator under Safe Mode (Windows) and checking if it helps?

 

Also, try running Illustrator under a different administrator account (Windows) and share your observations.
